Biography:
Ms. Rashmi Poduval is an IBCLC with over 18 years of experience. She has always aimed at providing holistic care to the families while supporting their unique breastfeeding goals. She has successfully assisted more than 50,000 breastfeeding dyads over the years. As a part of her master's degree in clinical nutrition, she started her internship at a NICU in a multispecialty hospital and instantly fell in love with her work. She knew that she had found her true calling in the miraculous world of preemies and decided to pursue a full-time career as a lactation professional.
Rashmi has been instrumental in setting-up a Human Milk Bank and managing it for more than four years and supervising another State-of-the-art Human Milk Bank for over a year. She specializes in enteral nutrition and lactation management in preterm babies, feeding in special circumstances, pregnancy nutrition and lifestyle management, complementary feeding and has successfully managed over 25 cases of induced lactation. She is also a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy practitioner and a Certified PIOMI provider.
She has been a faculty for various Breastfeeding and Human Milk Banking conferences in India. She has written a chapter in a book on Bringing up preterm babies, a module for a Pediatric nutrition course and contributed to a TOT module by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
Rashmi is a member and coordinator of the Action Committee for the Association of Lactation Professionals India. She has been actively involved in volunteer work for breastfeeding promotion which includes mentoring and training new aspiring lactation professionals, planning and coordinating academic events for the lactation professional's community in Pune- India and creating awareness through informative blogs and various social media platforms.
