Abstract:
Common medications used in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are associated with severe Adverse Drug Effects (ADEs). These ADEs can easily be mistaken for other patient conditions, leading to under-recognition. ADEs can range from acute kidney injury to hepatic injury and even seizures. This discussion will focus on how common medications may affect the kidneys and liver, providing practical information on when to consider holding medications.Pre-Recorded Presentation
